Making a difference through service and friendship

About Roger Sherman Chapter NSDAR, Inc.

The chapter holds hybrid meetings, in-person & virtually for 11 months of the year. Most meetings are held in the evening, either during the week or on Saturday. The chapter incorporates meaningful programs into our monthly business meetings. Themes include conservation, patriotism, women's issues, historic preservation, and much much more.
Chapter meeting locations vary throughout the greater New Milford area. We schedule one or two road trips a year to area historical attractions.

The chapter members meet quarterly to participate in social activities. This includes luncheons, crafts activities, and other exciting gatherings. We love to have fun together!!

We encourage anyone interested in joining DAR to attend one of our meetings. We love visitors and want you to better understand the NSDAR organization and our chapter.

What we Value

For more than 130 years, the members of the Roger Sherman Chapter NSDAR, Inc., have dedicated themselves to historical preservation, promotion of education, and encouragement of patriotic endeavor. These values are as relevant in today’s NSDAR as they were when the organization was founded in 1890.

The members of our chapter consistently give back to our communities with over 5,000 volunteer hours each year. These hours are achieved through both individual service as well as chapter-led initiatives.

Members donated pocket books to a state project.

Our Programs

The chapter incorporates programs into our monthly meetings.  Themes include conservation, patriotism, education, women's issues, historic preservation and much more.

Project Patriot

The chapter actively supports our military by sending cards and goody boxes to those deployed and making baby blankets for the newborn infants of service members. We recognize our veterans with our annual Veterans Day Breakfast.

If you have a family member who is currently on active duty and deployed from the greater New Milford area, we want to hear from you. We will add your loved one to our list to receive cards and goodies.
